The Weekly Happy

I recently watched a documentary simply called Happy. It was a sweet glimpse into people’s lives around the world through the lens of what makes people happy. While the movie explored different concepts regarding long-term happiness, the most notable immediate effect, for me, was that watching the movie made me smile a lot.

In the interest of self-care and increased happiness, I am pleased to introduce The Weekly Happy. I’ve been watching a lot of documentaries and TED Talks lately, and it turns out there are a number of TED Talks on the topic of happiness. I have watched several, and have typically found myself smiling at some point during most. It’s definitely worth taking a gander if you find yourself with some free time and the internet at your fingertips. In the meantime, I’ll be sharing some food for thought here on a regular basis. This title of this one pertains to longevity rather than happiness, but it’s really about quality of life, and it made me smile. I hope it makes you smile, too.

Then again, I might just be posting videos of baby animals from now on. Emotional resilience. Yes!

Wow – so weird. I just watched ‘Happy’ on Netflix last week. I also watch TED Talks and love them. Sometimes I find it frustrating that happiness seems to come so easy to people while I find it the most challenging thing to find.

We are clearly in some kind of media sync! Sorry to hear about your frustrations – it can be a challenge sometimes for sure. This Weekly Happy post is clearly not meant to tackle the big issues, but hopefully to eke out a smile or two.
